I am having problem connecting my iphone 4 and avx830. I am using the apple composite cable, when I connect Iphone, the head unit tries to connect then "restricted device" show on the screen. I will connect by bluetooth but I have to control the music from the phone, not HU. Everything I have read states its compatible with the iphone 4, and has 2way controls(I'm assuming thats if it will connect via the cable. Any help would be appreciated.

So i looked at your HU on cruchfield and sonic, looks like you need a special cable and you can't use your ipod cable

this is what you need, you may beable to find it cheaper but ya, that's what you will need to get it to work.

I'll get one and try it. The genuine apple composite cable I was using is the same design. Who knows maybe there is some difference that we can't see. The only other thing I can think of is my iPhone software, it may be to new. I may need an older version of software.
